Saddest thing ever

The picture doesn't do it justice but this is one of the most heartbreaking things I have ever seen. Finn went into the doctor for his one year check-up. The doctor informed me that Finn had an ear infection. Now the doctor didn't know if the ear infection was caused by a virus or by bacteria. Nevertheless she did prescribe antibiotics for Finn to take for 10 days. I wasn't trying to ignore the doctors orders but I am against taking or giving antibiotics unless absolutely necessary. I worry about the boys building up immunity to antibiotics and the consequences of such an immunity. I filled the precription anyway, I like to keep drugs in my food storage. Two days later Finn was getting worse so I relented and gave him the antibiotics. Everything was fine until about a week after starting the meds Finn woke up with a head to toe itchy rash all over his body. It was so sad. He scratched his face so hard it left marks on his cheeks. The rash was worse on areas that were warm like the crook of his arm and the backs of his knees. What's worse is the rash was miserable on his booty and business. He always had his hand down his diaper scratching to his heart's content. The doctor determined that Finn is allergic to penicillin. It took 7 days for the rash to disappear. He's a lot better now.

Cole is 4!

Amazing Jake's. I have heard those two words incessantly over the last month. All Cole wanted for his 4th Birthday was to go to Amazing Jake's. For those who are unfamiliar with Amazing Jake's it's like Chucky Cheese but on crack. It has video games and skeeball but also laser tag and go-carts. Cole invited 22 guests to his party, three friends and the whole family. I made a TMNT cake because I am too cheap to buy one from the store. Can't believe he is four already!
